Verführerisch glitzern die Sterne des Meeres auf der dunklen Wasseroberfläche. Das Motiv ist auf speziellem Hologrammpapier gedruckt; je nach Lichteinfall lassen sich alle Farben des Regenbogens auf der Grafik erkennen. Mit dem Titel „Stella maris“ beziehen sich die Künstler auf die Anrufung Marias als Schutzpatronin der Seeleute und auf das Symbol des rettenden Sterns Stella maris (lateinisch Stern des Meeres, auch Maris stella), der Menschen auf See die Richtung weist.
Das Meer kann in diesem Bild beruhigend und froh wirken, aber je nach Licht auch düster und unheimlich.

The stars of the sea shimmer seductively on the dark surface of the water. The motif is printed on special holographic paper, allowing all the colors of the rainbow to appear on the image depending on the angle of light. With the title “Stella maris”, the artists refer to the invocation of Mary as the patron saint of seafarers and to the symbol of the guiding and saving star Stella maris (Latin for Star of the Sea, also Maris stella), who shows those at sea the way. In this work, the sea can appear calm and joyful, yet depending on the light, also dark and mysterious.
