Messidor, the month of the harvest in the revolutionary calendar. This was the name given to the square when it was donated to the town by the André de Nyon grain merchant family. The square was intended for grain cultivation and was fertile. Today, the quality of the land is at odds with its name. The site is gradually being taken over by buildings, by the school with its large gymnasium, but also by its asphalted courtyard.
The project "Viscum Stellatum - Park of Eternal Love" questions the way we deal with the soil: How can this non-renewable resource be used sustainably? Where is the biodiversity in the manicured park?

With the establishment of mistletoe, an epiphyte plant that uses other plants to live outside the soil, the artist team brings wildness to the small park in a condensed form.

As an epiphyte, mistletoe masters the art of compaction and climatization to achieve the best quality of light, a factor that limits the growth of plants on the ground. With its berries, mistletoe contributes to biodiversity and attracts various insects and birds. It is also said to bring peace, happiness and love. Lovers are said to kiss under the mistletoe in order to achieve eternal love.

The artistic concept is as simple as it is brilliant and at the same time sculptural and symbolic. An 18-metre-high tripod, which only minimally affects the valuable ground, supports a huge mistletoe ball, which is protected by a roof. The mistletoe ball with a diameter of over 2 meters attracts birds that love the mistletoe berries.
The berry seeds stick to the birds' beaks and to get rid of them, they sharpen their beaks on other trees in the park, so that new mistletoe grows there and gradually transforms the park into a wild park of eternal love.
